About

This website is intended to serve as a resource for clinicians who may have clients with the experience of abortion stigma. It is part of my clinical dissertation, one of the requirements for the degree of doctorate in clinical psychology (PsyD).

The Learn section has 6 different sub-sections. This is to aid clinicians in learning more about abortion stigma.

The Reflection section is an area for clinicians to reflect on their own beliefs around abortion and abortion stigma. These reflections are included in an effort to aid clinicians in processing their own potential abortion stigma experience, or their stigmatizing beliefs around abortion that they may not be aware of. It is important for clinicians to process their own potential negative abortion beliefs because abortion stigma can be unknowingly perpetuated in the therapy room. The reflections will help engage clinicians in exercises to explore the topic of abortion stigma on their own time in a safe space, without judgment or self-criticism.

This guide aims to create awareness in the field of psychology and jumpstart a chain reaction to closing the large, overlooked gap on abortion stigma interventions. Ultimately, the intention of this website is to be a resource for clinicians to work conscientiously and harmoniously with individuals experiencing abortion stigma.
